About Women

The Women Department of KELC started in 1993 with the purpose of promoting women and developing women activities in church and society. This Department enables and supports women work in all areas of life in order that women and all people may have life and life in its fullness (John 15:10).
Following on this goal, women at KELC have been involved and are being involved in programs and activities of personal and community development in areas of spirituality and economy.

In order to fulfill the objectives of economic and spiritual development among women, the Department has identified six priority areas for promotion and development.

The members of the JMCK are:  The Mission Department of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria, The Northelbian Centre for World Mission, and the Deanery of Niederberg all from Germany.  The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, The Women Mission Workers from Sweden, the Evangelical Lutheran church in Tanzania and the Kenya Evangelical Lutheran Church.  The Lutheran World Federation is an associate member.
